Petersen is an attorney with over 26 years of experience working in tax. Her experience includes testifying before the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations about tax shelters and being interviewed by The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes Magazine, the Las Vegas Review-Journal, The Sacramento Bee and BusinessWeek. She spent 18 years with the California Franchise Tax Board Legal Division and over 8 years in the tax department of two large public accounting firms. She received both a Juris Doctor and Masters of Law in Taxation at McGeorge School of Law and holds a Certified Public Accountant license (currently inactive). Debra is an adjunct professor with the University of the Pacific's McGeorge School of Law.
